In this chapter QMU lecturer Paul Gilfillan explores how the decline of industry in Fife connects to Scottish Nationalism. He argues that the working-class community he studied suffered with the decline of coal mining. His argument explores how class-based experiences of deindustrialisation explain broader trends in the rise of Scottish Nationalism.
